گسترش روزافزون اتوماسیون، سبب ورود موتورهای الکتریکی به صنایع شده استبه‌گونه‌ای که نیروی محرکه بسیاری از ابزارها از موتورهای الکتریکی دریافت می‌شود. موتور سویچ‌رلوکتانس، به­عنوان نوعی از موتورهای سنکرون، با مزیت‌های فراوان خود، توانایی جایگزین شدن با موتورهای قدیمی را دارد و مشکلات آن‌ها را برطرف می‌کند. کنترل این موتور به­دلیل ذات غیرخطی و متغیر با زمانش، و همچنین وجود عدم قطعیت‌های آن، امری بسیار دشوار است. در این مقاله با استفاده از کنترل‌کننده مد لغزشی بهینه، کنترل سرعت این موتور انجام­گرفته است. با استفاده از ساختار آبشاری، بزرگترین عیب این موتور یعنی ریپل گشتاور کاهش پیداکرده است. کنترل‌کننده پیشنهادی، با تبدیل مساله کنترل مد لغزشی مرتبه اول به مساله بهینه سازی و با حل بی­درنگ آن با شبکه عصبی بازگشتی تصویر، سیگنال کنترلی بهینه ای تولیدکرده که چترینگ نداشته و در عین حال شرط لغزش را برآورده می‌کند. عملکرد کنترل­کننده پیشنهادی درمقایسه با سایر کنترل‌کننده­ها در قالب شبیه‌سازی صورت­گرفته و اثربخشی آن نشان داده شده است.
